The Municipal Theater hosted yesterday afternoon the ballet “The Nutcracker”, one of the great titles of the classical repertoire and a tradition in the Christmas season that we enjoyed the hand of the Barcelona Ballet. The ballet is a fairy tale structured in two acts with a great showiness in its scenery and costumes, which contribute to the magic of its story. A show that captures the essence of its imaginative characters, combined with the harmony of Tchaikovsky’s universal music.
The story takes place on Christmas Eve in a German city in the early 19th century. The audience that filled the theater enjoyed the narration, which tells the reality of a wealthy bourgeois family, to navigate through dreams by a magical kingdom.
Christmas is a big party at Clara’s house, and all the children receive a present. Clara, her beloved godfather, is given a beautiful “Nutcracker” doll. When everyone goes to sleep, Clara and her “Nutcracker” Prince, after defeating the army of the Mouse King, will travel to distant lands, encountering magical snowflakes and sweets from different countries that will dance for them.
An unforgettable night, full of adventures that young and old enjoyed the innocence of a story with an incredible staging and that was wrapped by the standing applause of the audience.
