In this edition, choirs from Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Madrid, Zaragoza, Murcia, Valencia and Alicante will participate.
The councilman of Culture, Antonio Quesada, and the president of the Coral Francisco Vallejos, José Miguel Ferrández, presented this morning the 35th International Choral Meeting “City of Torrevieja”, to be held on 28, 29 and 30 September at the Municipal Theatre.
The Opening Gala will take place on Thursday, September 28, at 8:30 p.m., with the participation of the Francisco Vallejos Choir and the Vox Musicalis Choir from Totana (Murcia).
On Friday, September 29, also at 8:30 p.m., the Women’s Chamber Choir Incantus from Valencia and the choir Voces para la Convivencia from Ciempozuelos (Madrid) will perform.
On Saturday, the activity will begin at 11:30 a.m., at the Municipal Theater, with the Choral Forum, where the choristers will meet to share working methods, experiences and repertoires, as well as the rehearsal of common singing. The Closing Gala will include the participation of the Enchiriadis Women’s Vocal Group, from Zaragoza, and the Ainur Chamber Choir, from Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
As for the repertoire, the president of the Choir Francisco Vallejos has reported that the organization has asked the participating choirs to be varied, “but there will be no shortage of habaneras, sacred music, polyphony, folklore or modern music,” said José Miguel Ferrández.

Both the host choir and the Councillor for Culture have appealed to all music lovers and, in particular, choral singing, so rooted in Torrevieja, to attend this new edition of the Choral Encounter.
