Wine, music and gastronomy
On Thursday, May 22 at 8:00 pm, the Municipal Theater of Torrevieja will host a new edition of “Sabor & Cultura”, an exclusive experience that unites gastronomy, wine and music in an intimate and carefully curated format. Organized by Qtal Gourmet, this event has already sold out again, consolidating itself as one of the most anticipated proposals for lovers of good taste.
The evening includes a paired tasting of wines from the historic Finca Torremilanos winery, founded in 1903 in Ribera del Duero. The session will be guided by Isabel Gutiérrez López, sommelier of renowned trajectory, who will lead the public through a sensory journey in which each wine will be accompanied by flavors designed to enhance its nuances.
The experience will be completed with live music by pianist Cristina Cámara, who will perform a careful selection of pieces from the 80s, creating an enveloping and elegant atmosphere.
“Sabor & Cultura” is much more than a pairing: it is an appointment for the senses, where wine, music and cuisine become a common language for those who know how to enjoy the small great pleasures.

“The Function That Goes Wrong”: a disastrously funny comedy.
On Saturday, May 24 at 20:00 hours, the Municipal Theater of Torrevieja will receive one of the most successful and celebrated comedies of the last decade: “The Function That Goes Wrong”. This hilarious mix between the absurd humor of Monty Python and the suspense of Sherlock Holmes finally arrives in our city, after conquering the public in more than 30 countries.
Winner of the 2015 Olivier Award for Best Comedy, the play portrays a group of amateur actors attempting to perform a mystery play, but where absolutely everything that can go wrong, goes wrong. Falls, technical failures, text oversights and stage accidents make up this comedy of entanglements that has made more than 8 million spectators laugh since its premiere in London’s West End in 2012.
Its success spread quickly, becoming the highest-grossing comedy on Broadway for two seasons. In Spain, the phenomenon continues unstoppable with more than 1,000 performances and 450,000 spectators in its sixth season.
The show has a duration of 1 hour and 40 minutes and offers an affordable price starting at 15€. In addition, those who arrive in advance will be able to enjoy a special surprise: an exclusive pre-show at 7:45 pm, where the actors will interact with the audience.
A night of non-stop laughter, suitable for all audiences, not to be missed!

Me cuesta tanto olvidarte: the definitive tribute to Mecano
Also on Saturday May 24 at 20:00 hours, but in the International Auditorium of Torrevieja, there will be a show that promises to thrill a whole generation: “Me cuesta tanto olvidarte”, the best tribute to the most emblematic group of Spanish pop, Mecano.
As part of a limited-time national tour, this concert recreates with amazing fidelity the essence, voice and style of one of the most beloved bands in the musical history of our country. The artist Belén Alarcón dazzles with a vocal and physical interpretation that perfectly reminds us of Ana Torroja, accompanied by a band of first class musicians that faithfully reproduces the original arrangements.
During the 120-minute show, the audience will be able to relive unforgettable hits such as “Hoy no me puedo levanter”, “Hijo de la Luna”, “Cruz de navajas” or “Me cuesta tanto olvidarte”, among many others.
But not only the music will be the protagonist: the set design, costumes and original choreographies have been carefully reproduced to offer an immersive experience that transports the audience directly to the golden years of Mecano.
With tickets from 28€, this concert will be a unique opportunity to relive the excitement of an unrepeatable era. An essential tribute for Mecano fans, and for those who still believe in the magic of pop.

“The Collection”: José Sacristán and Ana Marzoa in a powerful drama about legacy and memory.
On Sunday, May 25 at 7:00 pm, the Municipal Theater of Torrevieja will host the premiere of “The Collection”, a play written and directed by Juan Mayorga, one of the most prestigious playwrights of the contemporary scene, winner of the Princess of Asturias Award for Literature (2022), the National Theater Award (2007) and the National Award for Dramatic Literature (2013), among other awards.
The story starts with a simple question: what will happen to our collection when we are no longer around? From this premise, a plot loaded with symbolic and philosophical depth develops, starring Héctor and Berna, a married couple of collectors who have dedicated their lives to gather a unique collection. In their old age, they summon two people: Susana, a young collector with a special sensitivity, and Ignacio, an enigmatic character who arouses suspicions and questions. Is he there to value, to judge, or to be part of the collection?
“The Collection” is a play about the attachment to objects, the transmission of legacy and the search for the meaning of life. All performed by an exceptional cast, headed by two legends of Spanish theater: José Sacristán, Goya Award, National Film Award and Feroz de Honor, and Ana Marzoa, winner of the Max Theater Award.
With a duration of 110 minutes and tickets from 15€, this proposal offers a unique opportunity to enjoy first class theater, full of emotion, philosophy and acting talent.
