The Auditorium hosted the awarding of the LII Diego Ramírez Pastor Prize

He returned once again this year to the extraordinary setting of the Auditorium and International Congress Center, where about four hundred people attended an event in which they were greeted with music by pianist Nataliya Khomyak and the violin of Stanislav Tkach, joined by the voice of Lucia Spain. The event was presented by local journalist, Antonio Aniorte, who by way of introduction recalled the founding of the award, giving the floor to Juan Mateo, son of the creator of the Award, who read the minutes of the Jury, which after the various votes proclaimed that the Award “Diego Ramirez Pastor” in its LII, edition was for the director of the Symphony Orchestra of Torrevieja, José Francisco Sánchez Sánchez.then proceeded to the delivery of the award, an original bronze metope of the Bros. White which was presented by the mayor of the city, Eduardo Dolon, being imposed the shield of the award by the councilman of culture, Antonio Quesada.

José Francisco Sánchez, then went on stage to thank the jury and all the attendees and said he was proud of his family, and especially his wife and son who is his life and what he loves most. He recalled with emotion the recently deceased Mario Bustillo, with whom he had worked on several occasions and all the musicians who were and are part of this project that is now in its tenth year, the Symphony Orchestra of Torrevieja.

He closed the ceremony the mayor of Torrevieja, then cousin of the winner, who valued his perseverance and as they had never coincided in both sports and cultural hobbies and finally showed a baton that was placed on the lectern, which gave the teacher Sanchez, so that, on this occasion, sounded as a traditional finale to the ceremony the Hymn of Torrevieja, performed by the Symphony Orchestra and soprano Lucia Spain. After a standing ovation, a cocktail was served, which was enlivened by Enrique Simón Quintet.

The ceremony was attended by the mayor of Torrevieja, the Queen of Salt Mireya Hernandez Gomez and her ladies Paula Garcia Mañogil and Beatriz Cerda Pardo, the Queen of the Festival of Torrelamata Maria Barrera Paredes, the pastor of the Immaculate, Jose A. Gea, the vicar Francisco A. Miravete,  and almost all the councilors of the Consistory torrevejense and family and friends of the winner  and representatives of associations and organizations in the city.
