A true story that goes beyond the stage.
The Municipal Theater of Torrevieja hosted last weekend the musical Skate Hero: the skateboard hero, a musical that seeks to convey to the viewer the exciting and heroic last hours of José Ignacio Echeverría, killed in a terrorist attack in 2017.
When José Ignacio was returning from skating with friends, he was confronted by a terrorist attacking a woman. The protagonist did not think twice and decided to try to help her. Minutes later, José Ignacio suffered two stab wounds that ended his life.
The musical, based on the book “Así era mi hijo Ignacio: el héroe del monopatín”, together with the protagonist’s father, seeks to pay tribute to and transmit the values of his son and explain how one is capable of “giving one’s life for love”.
The event also included a discussion between the cast and the audience in which the participants were able to express their feelings and emotions after the musical.
