As the first concert in the major series “The Genius of Bonn,” dedicated to the 200th anniversary of Ludwig van Beethoven’s death, the Torrevieja Symphony Orchestra kicks off its Subscription Season with a program that explores the profound influence of the German composer on the passionate French school of the 19th century. Under the baton of conductor José Miguel Rodilla, the evening will open with the overwhelming power and cry for freedom of the famous “Egmont Overture,” a work that connects perfectly with the lyricism and expressive richness of Édouard Lalo’s Cello Concerto, which will feature the virtuosity of cellist David Apellániz.
As the grand finale of this opening concert, the monumental Symphony No. 5 in C minor will cap off the program.
