Premiered on December 7, 1923 at the Teatro de la Zarzuela in Madrid, it tells the story of Juan the Indian, who returns rich and powerful to his village after traveling the Americas.
In his memory is the figure of Adriana, the love of his youth, who finally married a mature man to save her family from a serious economic problem and became the mother of a girl, Rosaura.
When Juan meets Adriana again, he is disenchanted to see how the image of his ideal love has been eroded by the passage of time. The capricious and cruel destiny will make history repeat itself when Juan, blinded by his fortune and his power, meets Rosaura, a living reflection of his mother, but twice his age.
A show with soloists, actresses, actors and chorus of the Compañía Lírica Alicantina that you can’t miss!
