Through impossible journeys back and forth in time, Los Secretos tell the
story of their life, their music and the people who were part of them.
“A Tu Lado” is a unique testimony of a group that lived (and changed) the history of the pop music of this country and now they want to share with the public
. The members of the group narrate in first person the history of Los Secretos, reviewing their career and the circumstances that have made them a mythical group without which it is impossible to understand the Spanish music scene of the last 45 years.
The story of A Tu Lado takes place one night in a concert hall that could be
any of those that are part of the collective imagination: the Sala Sol, La Vía Láctea,
the Rock-Ola… There, and in the darkness before the hall fills up and the
concert begins, an actor transforms himself in front of the audience into a singer from another time: Enrique
Urquijo, leader of the band whose story he will narrate.
Enrique, as master of ceremonies, introduces the group and begins a one hour and
half hour journey through time from the years of the “new wave” in the midst of transition, passing
through “la movida” and the decades that have marked the history of a group and a country.
The story of a group of very young boys who had a dream, who formed a musical group
hiding from their family and who reached the top. But this story
is not only the portrait of a path to success. It is also a story of loss, of lives
cut short and, finally, of rebirth.
From Enrique’s unique perspective, we witness his own success and his
untimely end, with his brother Alvaro as a pivotal figure in both the history of the
group and his life with his brother, as well as each of the current
members of Los Secretos who intervene in and out of the narrative.
In the musical section, the soundtrack is composed of the most emblematic songs
, masterfully enriching this exciting story.
Thus, for the first time, songs like “Déjame”, “La Calle Del Olvido”, “Ojos De Gata”, “Por El Bulevar
De Los Sueños Rotos” or “Pero A Tu Lado” are a narrative vehicle that not only illustrates
musically the work, but also gives it a dramatic character. We discover how these
songs are created and how each one of them is part of the lives of the members of
Los Secretos and their fans.
