The Municipal Theatre of Torrevieja begins the month of July with a ballet, a children’s musical and a recital of choral singing. A varied program with which Torrevieja Culture welcomes the summer.
On Friday June 30 at 20:00h, at the Teatro de Torrevieja students of the Municipal School of Dance will perform the story of Coppelia, one of the most famous works in the field of ballet.
The story takes place in a village where Swanilda, her boyfriend Franz and the toymaker Coppelius live. The latter lives in a mysterious house, where he keeps his creations unknown to the rest: human-sized dolls. That is when the plot between Swanilda and Coppelius arises.
Thanks to this initiative that teachers Lola Morales, Carmen Olmedo and Nuria Girona from the Municipal School of Dance have been carrying out. Since last year they have been inviting the principal dancers of Barcelona, Anna Ishii and Reo Morikawa, so that dance students can actively learn from the best dancers and so citizens can enjoy the best quality of this wonderful classical work.

For the little ones on Saturday July 1 at 17:00h at the Municipal Theater, finally comes the musical Tadeo Jones, the best known Spanish animated character in history. This fantastic musical is perfect for families, because parents and children will be able to enjoy watching a neat scenography and listening to the impressive voices of the artists, who are your children’s favorite characters.

To finish the weekend in Torrevieja Culture we have the honor to celebrate with the Orfeón its XVI ANNIVERSARY in the Municipal Theater on July 2 at 20:30h . Directed by the conductor Mario Bustillos, a citizen of Torrevieja. He will delight the audience with his magnificent choir group, with a fairly extensive repertoire. It will start with opera arias, zarzuelas, ballads, duets, pop-rock and finally habaneras.
These events are ideal to enjoy with family and friends. You will soak up the popular and artistic culture of the city itself.
