- On Thursday 19, the Barcelona Ballet will present its version of The Nutcracker at the Municipal Theater.

The Nutcracker
The Municipal Theater of Torrevieja, in the middle of its Christmas program, will host a special version of “The Nutcracker” for the whole family, presented by the Barcelona Ballet on Thursday, December 19 at 21:00 hours.
When the clock strikes twelve on Twelfth Night, Uncle Deulofeu delivers a peculiar Nutcracker to little Clara. Once asleep, the brave and daring young girl fights with mischievous mice, and together with her Nutcracker she goes on a beautiful journey through a winter storm, until she reaches the World of Sweets.
A wonderful world full of magic and fantasy where both are greeted with sweet dances from different cultures: Spanish Chocolate, Chinese Tea, Arabian Coffee, French Marzipan, Russian Mint Sticks, and of course, Catalan Wafers and Carquinyolis.
This great production, always accompanied by Tchaikovsky’s music, presents an innovative plot that questions the stereotypes that have marked and still mark our current society. The Nutcracker offers a great cultural impact through the participatory dimension present in the show.
The Friends of the two of them
The weekend continues on Saturday, December 21, when also at the Municipal Theater will be presented the funny play “Los Amigos de ellos dos”, with the recognized Malena Alterio and David Lorente at 7:00 pm.
It is about two couples who have been meeting for dinner every Thursday for more than twelve years. However, this time Nicolas and Liza have already arrived at the restaurant, but their friends have not. The minutes pass and the mysterious and unusual delay of the friends begins to worry them.
Why are they always late? What role do we play in their lives? Are they really interested in us? Is it time to show them our dissatisfaction? The play reflects on how we perceive our place in society.
Daniel Veronese’s work describes one of the most relevant trajectories of the new Argentine theater that emerged after the military dictatorship (1976-1983). Playwright, theater director, actor and puppeteer, he also produces his own musical and stage productions.
In the last fifteen years, Veronese has received around twenty-five awards -among them, the First National Playwriting Award of Argentina and the Max Ibero-American- as well as numerous grants and scholarships for his work as a director, author and generator of new scenic trends, experimental works and new contributions in theater. His shows and plays have been presented in more than a hundred cities in America, Europe and Asia and now he has come to Torrevieja. You can’t miss it!

In this unforgettable show, we will relive the greatest and most successful musicals in theatrical history, enjoying a selection of iconic pieces that have defined musical theater over the years.

Intimate with Ruth Lorenzo
The unmistakable voice of Ruth Lorenzo, one of the most outstanding artists of our country, arrives with a special Christmas concert in an intimate and emotional format, next Sunday 22nd at 8:00 pm at the Municipal Theater.
This unique event not only promises a magical evening full of music and feeling, but also has a solidarity purpose: a portion of each ticket will go to the Music Schools affected by the DANA, helping children and young people to continue their musical education.
Ruth rose to fame in 2008 with her participation in the British version of the X Factor, where she came in fifth position. In addition, the singer achieved great popularity in the UK, where she even collaborated with guitarist Jeff Beck. In 2014, she was chosen to represent Spain at Eurovision with the song ‘Dancing in the rain’ and came ninth.
With 3 studio albums on the market (Planeta Azul, Planeta Azul Edición Especial and Loveaholic) and her latest single ‘La Reina’, she is immersed in her new musical project which will result in her fourth album. In addition, in ‘Tu Cara me suena’ she was the winner of the fourth edition and now she is the host of the program “El Piano” in laSexta.
