This week we travel to Andalusia with the I Festival “Solera, Salero y Compás” and the 5th Festival Carnaval Ciudad de Torrevieja – Costa Blanca. Also Candlelight returns with “The best of Hans Zimmer” and a “Tribute to Queen”.
On Friday, August 18 at 20:00h the I Festival “Solera, Salero y Compás” will premiere at the Municipal Theater. Organized by the association Casa Andalucía “Rafael Alberti”, this first edition of the festival will make us fly to Andalusia just to see, hear and feel the beauty of flamenco singing and dancing. Ubaldo Valverde, finalist of the Festival Salinas de Oro 2023, will be the voice of the copla, accompanied by Jesús Ferández on percussion and piano and Félix Amador on guitar. Iván Chaskío will also perform as the flamenco voice and will be accompanied on dance by Mariano Santiago and Adriana Nuevo.
On Saturday August 19 at 21:00h will begin the 5th Festival Carnival City of Torrevieja – Costa Blanca in which will feature four groups and the best chirigotas. In the Municipal Theatre you can enjoy the only event that takes place in the province of Alicante where you will have the opportunity to live a little piece of the genuine official contest of carnival groups of Cadiz.
Martínez Ares, the Chirigota de Fermín y Antoñito, and Manolín Santander, bring us to the “Ciudad de la Sal” their art, self-confidence, and flair displayed in the last Carnival of Cadiz.
Undoubtedly, it is a unique show that the Chirogota “Los Sangochaos” of Torrevieja, have prepared for lovers of this genre, which every day has more followers and this year celebrates its fifth edition.
In addition, the popular Candelight concerts return to the Municipal Theater of Torrevieja on Sunday August 20 with “The best of Hans Zimmer” and a “Tribute to Queen”.
At 7:30 pm you can enjoy a candlelight concert with “The Best of Hans Zimmer”. The popular composer of the soundtracks of Interstellar, Gladiator, Pirates of the Caribbean, Inception, The Lion King… with which you will get excited remembering your favorite movies.
Also at 9:30 pm there will be another pass in “Tribute to Queen”, a delight for lovers of this legendary group, in which you will hear their greatest hits: Somebody to Love, Bohemian Rhapsody, We Are the Champions… with which for sure you will not be able to stop singing and dancing to their catchy songs. In both the Salzillo String Quartet will make you enjoy a unique musical experience, with the theater illuminated by thousands of candles.
