Last Saturday was the meeting between bands in the province of Alicante to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the Diputación de Alicante.
The gala, which was directed by Francisco Maestre, founder and artistic director of the International Festival of Young Orchestras, toto macau had as participants bands from the province of Alicante.
The first band to take the stage was the Colla Floral de San Vicente del Rapeig, who performed Programs of traditional music dolçaines, Fogueres 97, Bon Tabaquet, Passacarrer d’Altea, Passacarrer de la Mare and Matilde Bella. Then, the Musical Society Ciudad de Torrevieja “Los Salerosos”, directed by Alejandro Gómez, performed the pasodoble Renaixer by Francisco Carchano Moltó and West Side Story.
Almoradí was represented by the Unión Musical de Almoradí to delight the audience with the pasodoble Música i Poble by Ferrer Ferrán and Danza Sinfónica by James Bames.

The Municipal Band of Villena, conducted by Pedro Ángel López, also participated, whose interpretations chosen for the anniversary were Tesoro y fortaleza, Pasodoble composed on the occasion of the 1st centenary of the Banda Musical de Villena, Fantasía para un centenario, Centenario, Ad bellum and Anima proelium.
The closing of the event was performed by the local band Unión Musical Torrevejense that interpreted Alvamar Overture by James Barnes, Los sobrinos del capitán Grant, barcarola, mazurca and zamacueca and El tambor de grananderos, overture by Ruperto Chapí.
After the representation of the Hymn of the Valencian Community and the National Anthem by the Torrevejense Musical Union, each band in attendance was awarded a recognition.
