More than 500 people attended Saturday’s celebration of the election of the Queen of Salt. The event began in the Plaza Miguel Hernandez, with the celebration of a solo piano concert. Once inside the enclosure and with the spectators in the stalls, began the dynamization show proposed by Lucia Spain and Paya’s dance school, whose theme focused on “the bottom of the sea”, in addition to the Coral Francisco Vallejos and tenor Victor Alcañiz.
After the first act, the outgoing Salinera Court composed of Victoria Magoñ Rodriguez, Queen of Salt, and the ladies Juncal Gomez Rivero and Marta Vizcaino Mesa, took the stage to say goodbye with a speech in which he thanked all the experiences enjoyed this past year.
After the farewell, came the moment awaited by all those attending the gala, it was time for the election. The jury, which was thanked with the delivery of a lump of salt, was composed of: La Corte Salinera 20-21 (Raquel Tévar, María Cases and Cristy Guamán), Conchita Mercader Valdés, Inmaculada Ruiz Egea, Francisco Beltrán Blanco, Iñaki Isidro Sánchez, María Ortigosa and as secretary of the jury, Mónica Ferrández Baena.
Once the jury’s minutes had been handed over to the gala’s presenter, Francisco Reyes Prieto, he proceeded to announce the verdict:
As Queen of the Salt, Maribel Lopez Cerdan, who was presented with crown and scepter by the outgoing Queen of the Salt and whose band imposition was made by the mayor of Torrevieja.

The gala concluded with the interpretation of the anthem of the city of Torrevieja.
