Torrevieja Audiovisual will present a careful selection of the best national short films made in the last two years.
A new version of “Sleeping Beauty” will premiere, with a more familiar and deeper message that promises to captivate all audiences.
A cinematographic experience
In its ninth edition, Torrevieja Audiovisual is proud to present a careful selection of the best short films made in the last two years, offering the public a unique cinematic experience. The event will be held on September 13 and 14 at the Municipal Theater from 20:30 hours.
This exclusive event will not only showcase high quality works, but will also feature the presence of the filmmakers, who will share with the public the vision and creative process behind each short film before its screening. Short films in animation and fiction presented by their authors will be screened, emphasizing that the program is suitable for children from 8 years old.
There will be two sections for the competition: fiction and animation. The professional jury will be composed of four filmmakers of recognized national prestige, who will be in charge of evaluating the works and awarding the prizes.
On Friday the following shorts will be presented: Felina (directed by María Lorenzo), Génesis (Ceres Machado), The Boogey and the Witch (Jorge Turell), Lion Dreams (Jordi López), Cafuné (Carlos F. de Vigo and Lorena Ares), Rutina (Roberto López) and First Coin (Sonia Sánchez and Ana Juesas).
On Saturday, the pieces Fin de Temporada (Leonor Martín), Carmen y la Cuchara de Palo (Carlos Gómez-Mira) and Rojo por Rojo (Lucía Aparici) will be exhibited.
Ensuring that all audiences can enjoy these masterpieces, all short films will be subtitled in English, making this festival a meeting point for film lovers in Torrevieja.

The musical of memories
This Sunday 15 at 7:00 pm, “Sleeping Beauty” is reinvented. The theater company “Trencadís” puts the focus for this story on memory, memories and cultural heritage. The protagonist of the story thought that her grandfather’s little stories would always be there; that she could ask him again, a thousand times, the recipe for apple pie, the dates of her cousins’ birthdays or the details of the day she met her grandmother.
But the arrival of an unexpected diagnosis will shake the foundations of the grandfather’s memory and, with them, the granddaughter’s need to know more about the family’s past. How did grandfather and grandmother meet? Why was the story of “Sleeping Beauty” so important to them?
In short, this new proposal offers a walk through time that will reveal the importance of this story in the lives of the protagonists of the story, giving a deeper and more familiar message to the piece.
