Lily is a young girl from Chana who arrives in Torrevieja and ends up working at a puppet theater with the Wolf and the Ogre. While the Wolf falls in love with Lily, she falls for a Cuban man named Ariel who plays the guitar on the promenade. This character, who is a metaphor for Ricardo Lafuente’s habanera “Torrevieja,” is in Torrevieja because of all the things there remind him of Cuba, but he is actually tormented because his life now is a shadow of what it once was.
Ariel is engaged to Serafina, a girl from town who doesn’t get along very well with the beautiful Lola, and they’re always having their little, funny arguments. Lily will have to get used to being called Lilí in Torrevieja, but bad news soon arrives, and the townspeople will have to show her that there’s no place like this city.
