DESCRIPTION:The history of this show is quite interesting\, and we tell you about it: \n\n\nAfter the first evening of a not very definite success of LA BOHEME\, on February 1\, 1896\, this opera conquered with astonishing rapidity the ear and the heart of half of Europe and other parts of the world. Puccini’s worldwide success that began in 1893 with Manon Lescaut had a brilliant take-off.  \n\n\nOn November 24\, 1887\, TOSCA had its premiere in Paris: A new drama by Victorien SARDOU\, one of the most famous French playwrights of that time with brilliant theatrical instincts. Sardo wrote this role to be played by France’s greatest dramatic actress\, Sarah BERNHARD. Puccini saw the drama in 1889\, in Milan\, and despite his poor command of the French language\, he was fascinated. The great actress with her gestures and the diversity of her features fully expresses the intrigue of the work and is able to captivate only through the visible dramatism and thanks to her great mastery even when not a single word is understood.    \n\n\nHe leaves the theater seduced and hurries to telegraph his publisher RICORDI: “I intend to set Tosca to music. I beg you to take the necessary steps at once to obtain SARDOU’s authorization…” But SARDOU does not want to hear about turning his drama into an opera and rejects the proposal. TOSCA is forgotten.  \n\n\nSome years later another Italian composer -Alberto FRANCHETTI- gets SARDOU’s permission and begins to write the music for TOSCA. PUCCINI’s interest in the spectacular story of the Roman singer of the Napoleonic era is reborn. PUCCINI’s renown far outweighs that of his opponent and without much difficulty he recovers the libretto. The long work of rewriting the text begins. PUCCINI relies on the collaboration of the librettist Luigi ILLICA and the prominent poet Guiseppe GIACOSA.     \n\n\nThe author is allowed to believe that his word carries weight. RICORDI is a mediator. PUCCINI intervenes constantly demanding changes\, cuts\, additions. He meets several times with SARDOU to obtain important modifications: “Prodigious man. He is almost 70 years old and is more full of vigor and agility than a young man. He is an indefatigable talker with whom a conversation quickly turns into a monologue… He ended up giving in to everything I asked of him…” SARDOU is enthusiastic about the way ILLICA and GIACOSA carry out the adaptation of his TOSCA. The combination of the names SARDOU and PUCCINI promises a worldwide triumph.     \n\n\nThe draft of the libretto of TOSCA is completed at the end of 1896\, but only in 1898\, on his return to Italy\, PUCCINI devotes all his energies to the composition of the new opera and on August 18 he completes the first act. On July 16\, 1899 PUCCINI finishes the second act and on September 29 the third\, thus concluding the opera TOSCA.  \n\n\nOn October 14\, 1900\, the premiere of TOSCA is held at the Teatro Constanzi in ROME. It is rumored that an artifact will explode during the performance. The political situation makes this possibility credible. The alarm causes the theater to be evacuated. Finally everything is restored and the play is performed. It is a great success; it will be the same all over the world.      \n\n\n“Tosca” is a tragic opera in three acts by Giacomo Puccini that tells the gripping story of singer Floria Tosca\, her lover Mario Cavaradossi\, and the evil police chief\, Baron Scarpia. Set in Rome during the Napoleonic Wars\, the plot unfolds as Tosca is caught in a web of political and personal intrigue\, facing difficult decisions as she tries to protect her beloved Mario and save him from Scarpia’s clutches. The opera is an intense mix of love\, betrayal\, and sacrifice\, with a dramatic denouement that keeps the audience on the edge of their seats.

DESCRIPTION:One dinner\, four friends\, and a lie that gets out of hand…. How far would you go for your friends? How far would you go to maintain a fiction and be loyal to them?   These are the questions you will have to answer after watching this fun play that comes to the Municipal Theater of Torrevieja this Saturday October 19 at 19:00 pm. \nThe play takes place on the same night\, during dinner. It is about the lie of a group of friends who decide to simulate a non-existent reality in order to protect Belén\, one of the characters. The need then arises to invent stories to hide their own insecurities and create a fiction where everyone can become a better person.     \nBut in the end\, the dirty laundry of all the characters will come out and that group of seemingly perfect and pleasant friends will bring out the worst in each one of them\, as individuals and as a group. The value of friendship and sincerity will be questioned and egos and envy will collide with each other.  \nANIMALES DE COMPAÑÍA is a choral play about four friends who have known each other for a long time and get together to celebrate a homecoming dinner. Belén has been admitted to a psychiatric hospital. Javi – Belén’s ex-partner and absent character in the play – has decided to break off his relationship with the girl because of her instability and has gone to live in Australia with a new partner. This information is known to all the friends except the affected girl herself\, Belén\, who was knocked unconscious after taking a whole bottle of pills in a suicide attempt to draw attention to herself and\, in principle\, does not know that she has become single.    \nBefore Belén returns home\, and while they finalize the details of the dinner\, Alex -who has long been in love with the girl- confesses a secret to the rest of his friends: while Belén has been hospitalized\, he has pretended to be Javi. He has made Belén believe that Javi and she are still together. The lie has slipped out of his hands and now that the girl is about to appear\, he is forced to involve the whole group in his lie. He asks them to participate in this deception in which he plays at being who he is not.    \nThe critics have been especially in favor of this fun play during its run in Madrid\, with very good reviews such as “”The story engages with its intrigue\, entertains with its development and adds doses of fun\, creating an immersive theatrical experience” and also “It is a perfectly choreographed show that knows how to keep us attentive to every line\, to every movement”. \nDirected by Goya award winner Fele Martínez\, the cast includes the equally Goya winner Laura Galán\, and also Mónica Regueiro\, Iñaki Ardanaz\, Silvia Marty and Jorge Suquet\, experienced actors and actresses from theater but also from TVE\, Antena3; from feature films and from Netflix\, Prime Video and Movistar+ platforms. \nDon’t miss this intense play full of unexpected twists and turns!

DESCRIPTION:After the success of Miss Fit Model Spain 2023\, Torrevieja makes the leap to the international Fitness\, to host at the Municipal Theatre\, during the next Sunday September 29\, the Miss Fit Model Europe competition\, integrated into the calendar of the International Federation of Fitness (IFBB). \nThe event\, in which the best athletes from Spain and Europe will participate\, will begin on Saturday 28\, when the participants will arrive in Torrevieja to stay at the Hotel Doña Monse\, where the registration and sizing of the athletes will take place\, in a welcome party with the organization and sponsors. \nThe Fit Model competition consists of a first comparative round in a swimsuit\, and a second in a long ball gown; where beauty and styling are key to impressing the judges. The athlete with the best combined score in both rounds will be crowned Miss Fit Model Europe 2024 and\, among other prizes\, will qualify directly for the prestigious Arnold Schwarzenegger Classic Europe\, to be held in Madrid just two weeks later.  \nAs in 2023\, the event is organized by the Spanish Federation (FEFF) and the Golden Gym of Torrevieja\, with the support of the Department of Sports of the City Council of Torrevieja. Admission is free\, although it has a charitable purpose in favor of the Association of Relatives of Alzheimer’s patients (AFA Torrevieja).   \nThe competition will start at 11:00 am and end at 14:00.
